A clip is a short cut from a single VOD. Clips are public: they appear on the channel's **Clips** tab and under the source video, credited to you, and anyone can watch them without a plan.

## Create a clip

1. **Open the clip editor**

    On a VOD you can watch, select **Clip**.

2. **Set the range**

    Play or scrub to the moment you want, then select **Start here** and **End here**. Use **Back 1s** and **Forward 1s** to fine-tune, and **Jump to segment start** or **end** to check the edges.

3. **Name it and create**

    Enter a title and select **Create clip**. Processing takes a moment; you can close the page and the clip still finishes. It opens automatically when ready.

## Limits

| Limit | What it means |
| --- | --- |
| **Daily clips** | How many clips you can create in a rolling 24-hour window: 15 on Basic, 40 on Standard, 100 on Premium. The count frees up 24 hours after each clip. |
| **Per video** | Each account can make a limited number of clips from one VOD. |
| **Length** | Each clip has a minimum and maximum length, and the clips from one VOD share a total length budget. |

The editor shows how many clips and how much length you have left. When you hit a limit, it tells you which one and, for the daily limit, when you can clip again. Deleted clips no longer count toward the daily limit.

You need to be able to watch a VOD to clip it, so creating clips needs a plan. See [Plans](/billing).

## Rename or delete a clip

- **Rename**: open the clip's menu and select **Edit title**. You can rename a clip within 12 hours of creating it.
- **Delete**: open the clip's menu and select **Delete**. Deleting is available for a limited time after creating the clip and can't be undone.

## Rules for clips

Clips are made from someone else's broadcast. Creating one doesn't give you rights in the underlying content, and titles must follow the [rules of conduct](/legal/terms-of-service#acceptable-use).
